We found a tiara while shopping a few weeks ago. I had forgotten about it. I stumbled across it and decided to take some photos of Sheila. The pictures turned out great! She is such a good, patient model! We often walk through the kids section of toys and clothes just to see if we can find anything interesting. Treasures can also be found in antique malls!

I attended a meetup with the Tulsa Digital Photography Group at the Tulsa Animal Shelter. Our goal was to take journalistic style photos using only our camera and a flash attached to the camera body. The photography conditions were not ideal… subjects were in small pens with chain link fence front, lighting was fluorescent and mercury vapor, and the subjects were less than enthusiastic as you can imagine. It was a good learning experience, as far as photography goes, but very sad. The shelter was very clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful. However, it was difficult to see the animals in this environment knowing that over 70% of them would likely not be rescued. I encourage you to spay and neuter your pets, if you have them. If you are looking for a pet, please visit your local animal shelter. They have all different shapes, sizes and breeds. An interesting tidbit that I learned is that a large portion of animals surrendered to the shelter are from owners who were not allowed to have pets in their home. When the pets were discovered, the owners were forced to give them up. Make sure you are allowed to have pets before you take on that responsibility.
